Le gourmand
I listen to Sirius satellite radio in the car, and I often hear a commercial for Rosetta Stone language software. A man describes a visit to a French restaurant, where he impresses his friends by ordering in French. He says something along the lines of, "When the waiter came, I said, 'Je voudrais le poulet et le riz'."
Every time I hear that, I can't help but think, "You go to a French restaurant and you order chicken and rice??"

This ad always annoys me, having taken French from grade 7 through senior year, plus a semester in college. I think Rosetta Stone is letting this guy down on his pronunciation, mainly because "et" is pronounced like we say the letter "a" in english, not the way he says it (more like the spanish pronunciation of the english word "and", i.e. "y". Does this make any sense? Actually, I didn't even know he was ordering chicken and rice until I did a google search and found this. So thanks for clearing that much up for me!
